The perfume is mineral, nashi pear skin and rich citrus, peach, fennel and almond. Lovely aromats with some restrained savoury notes following the lifted fruit characters. A blend of two Italian varieties. Both impart very distinctive characters true to their individual personalities yet mesh beautifully.
This complex textural white wine is dry and elegant with a lovely line of fresh acidity cushioned with the slight slip of barrel fermentation and phenolic input. Citrus and pear are clear flavours and these flavours persist finishing with a slight orange note. Spice and texture carry through the full length and make this a wine that is constantly evolving in the glass.
Hand picked late February 2020. Fiano 60%, Pinot Grigio 40% The grapes were whole bunch pressed to tank, chilled and settled for 2 days then racked to tank. Partial malolactic fermentation. Fermented in older oak barrels.
