COLOUR, AROMA AND PALATE

The 2018 vintage was a standout year in the Yarra Valley, producing excellent fruit and growing conditions. Pinot Noir was a particular standout!

The 2018 Zonzo Estate Pinot Noir has floral notes of rose petal, red berries and spice. The palate extends the elegance suggested on the nose, providing a cushion of supple and bright fruit characters; again of rose petal, red berries, spice and plum to balance the fine yet firm tannins. The chary oak balance with the plush fruit profile results in a delicious rewarding Pinot Noir.

THE FACTS

Hand picked on the 8th of March. Of the total pick, 90% of the fruit was destemmed into small fermenters as whole berries with the balance making up the whole bunch portion of this wine. Inoculated on day 2 and plunged once a day. Following primary fermentation the fruit was pressed straight to oak for malo. Oak was a mix of new (20%) and 1-5yo barrels. Bottled in December 2018.
